Marmot

I pitched Marmot when I was Creative Director at Anchor. The brief hit during a lean stretch when our CCO and I were the only creatives left, so I ran it solo. My “Born Wild” campaign—a tribute to Marmot’s origin story (founded by an engineer who needed gear to survive the wilderness) and a rallying cry for anyone born to live for outdoor adventure—won against two other agencies and convinced me it was time to strike out on my own. Within weeks, I founded an agency that went on to win seven of its first eight pitches, including Ulta Beauty, Cox Automotive and Sweetgreen. Sometimes a win is the key to the door you’ve been waiting to open.
